The desk experiment...

I got this idea from
www.bookofjoe.com, who got it from this researcher at the Mayo Clinic.


So - I've taken the first step, moving to a standup desk. No chairs for me anymore. I've also added a wireless headset and 24" monitor, wireless keyboard, and wireless mouse. This is phase one, and I've been doing the stand-up thing for about 60 days.


So far, so good.


Now the treadmill, a Smooth Fitness 5.25, is on order. I'll be able to start the new year by walking all day while at my desk.


I need to.


After successfully losing 100 pounds about 8 years ago, I've regressed. Through weightlifting and other excersize I'm in better shape, but starting to get really big again - mainly due to smoking cessation about 4 years ago, I believe.


Its time to get serious - again.
